Hello! My name is Megan Eldredge and I am a mom, wife, law student, and writer. I was born in Chicago and spent a few years in New Jersey and Hawaii, but I now call North Carolina home, and have lived here for over fifteen years.
I originally started this blog in 2017, right before I began college at Brigham Young University–Hawaii, as a way to document my adventures around the islands. Since then, life has taken me in directions I never expected. I transferred colleges to be closer to family while balancing motherhood and school, got divorced, was a single mom, and in 2024, graduated from UNC–Greensboro with degrees in English and International & Global Studies. Later that same year, I got engaged right after starting law school at Elon University, and I am currently set to graduate in December. Law school is challenging, but I’m loving the journey—most days!
In my personal life, I’m married to my best friend, Kevin. It’s hard to believe our first date was over three years ago and that we’ve been married a year already! Before I started law school, we both trained for and ran trail ultramarathons, but these days, we’ve traded in the long training runs for shorter runs, family hikes, and evenings at home curled up with a good book (after the kids’ bedtimes, of course). Together, we’re raising five amazing kids: my stepdaughter (8yo); my daughter, Eloisa (5yo); my stepson (5yo — just five months younger than Eloisa); and our twins, Emersyn and Evelyn, who were born in late February earlier this year.
When I’m not studying, I love spending time with friends and family, chasing after our energetic bichapoo, Ginger, and, of course, writing. As I have navigated divorce, remarriage, blending a family, twin pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and law school, writing has been the most healing and cathartic outlet. Documenting my experiences — the highs and the lows, the good days, the bad days, and the mundane — has helped me stay grounded and connected to myself outside of motherhood, while also providing a way for me to virtually meet and motivate other moms. I am so thankful that writing has been such a foundation in my life from the age of nine, and I look forward to sharing more with you all here in the decades to come.
