Our Engagement Photos

Kevin and I had a vague idea of how we wanted our engagement photos to look, but oh my goodness, did Kaylea bring them to life! I cannot recommend her work enough, so if you need engagement photos, family photos, graduation photos, or a wedding photographer, be sure to check out her work here. We are so excited to work with her for our wedding soon!

Kevin and I have spent a LOT of time outside together since we started dating, whether it was at parks with our kiddos or on a long trail run on the weekends. Since so many of our photos together are taken in nature, we decided that we wanted a bit of a different vibe for our engagement photos. Although we do spend a lot of time outside together, our first date was actually in downtown Winston-Salem, so we headed there for our photo session.

Kaylea had a special way of capturing and editing photos to give them a “vintage” feel, and they turned out absolutely perfect! We also lucked out with the weather. Despite being early December, it was sunny and warm outside, which made the whole experience that much better.

Kevin was actually super excited for this photo session, which surprised me, but it shows in all of the photos! It also helped that Kaylea was super friendly and personable, so even though we just met, it felt like we were already friends, which helped us to feel very comfortable in front of the camera.

Other than the traditional, posed engagement photos, Kaylea also captured so many candids, framed in a way that truly made them art. Anyone can click a button on a camera, but it takes true talent to create lasting memories like this, and as I’ve already stressed, Kaylea did an amazing job.

These photos were taken the weekend in between my law school finals (I had one on Friday and the other on Monday) but I’m so glad we made time for this downtown engagement session. Kevin and I were blown away by how amazing the photos turned out, and will treasure them for years to come!

Next up: getting married!
